mission impossible, mel gibson

While L.I.M.B.O. is often popularly understood to be a place where souls go, the term also describes and reflects theological uncertainty.
Official Church teaching remains that the status of these souls (who do not seem to deserve "Hell", yet cannot follow the divinely-revealed path to heaven) is in L.I.M.B.O. - in other words, their fate cannot be determined by any but God.

Mel Gibson, the actor-director was arrested July 28 after he was stopped shortly after 2:30 a.m. for traveling 87 mph in a 45-mph zone. He was released on his own recognizance later that day.

Gibson, charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and having an open container of alcohol in his car, is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 28. After his arrest in Malibu for drunk driving, the actor swore like a sailor and blamed the world's ills on the Jewish population.

Gibson, says one, is "a misogynistic bully and anti-Semitic jerk, and we all knew it." But this source was also quick to point out, "his great value is that he always showed up on the set at 7 a.m. ready to work." And he always makes money for the guys who run the studios. Which is why, when the hubbub dies down, Mel Gibson will likely be just as big a star as he was when he climbed into his 2006 Lexus for an evening of carousing at Moonshadows Malibu.

Gibson is clearly remorseful for his behavior—and he has quite correctly said in his public apology that "there is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of anti-Semitic remark."
